Another launch and another unsuccessful landing attempt by one of SpaceX’s spacecraft. After a week of drama involving the LITTLE, SpaceX on Tuesday afternoon tested its latest Starship prototype, SN9, from its launch facility in Texas.
After the craft took off successfully and climbed 10 kilometers above the surface of the planet, it encountered problems. You can see where things go wrong around 11:35 am in the livestream. “We’re getting ready to restart two engines, tip the vehicle vertically, then switch to one engine for the landing burn,” says the person who narrates the action.
