FTC issues first fines using law against ticketing robots


The fines were originally a much higher $ 31 million, but the Commission reduced them due to an inability to pay.

You might not see more action like this for a while when concert halls and stadiums are generally closed to the public. However, this could serve as a deterrent for some scalpers whenever it is safe for public events to resume. There’s not much to pay for robots if scalpers have a real chance of losing their profits, after all.
